Mikkel Møller Andersen (born 26 April 2008) is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider. He won the World Under-21 Championship in 2026.

Biography

Andersen was born to a speedway family; his father Brian Andersen won the World Under-21 Championship in 1991[2] and earned 12 caps for the Denmark national speedway team, while his uncle Jan Andersen earned one cap.[3] He was the Danish and Nordic U16 champion.[4]

In 2022, Andersen won the Speedway Youth World Championship (SGP3) in Wrocław.[5] In 2023 he won the bronze medal behind Rasmus Karlsson in the SGP3 final in Målilla, after a run-off with Kacper Mania.[6]

Club career

In October 2023 he signed for Sønderjylland Elite Speedway for the 2024 season, his first full season in the Danish top tier.[7] In 2024, he made his debut in the Ekstraliga riding for Wrocław and in November 2024 extended his contract with the club for two more years.[8] In 2025, he won the U24 Ekstraliga title with Wrocław.[9] He also rode for Łódź in 2025.[1]

International career

In August 2025, Andersen won the Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship, held at Slangerup.[10] In September 2025, together with Villads Nagel and Bastian Pedersen, he won the European Under-19 Pairs Championship in Plzeň.[11] On 22 May 2026 he rode for Denmark in the Speedway of Nations 2 final in Prague, where Denmark won the silver medal; Andersen took one ride, in which he was excluded.[12]

World Under-21 Championship

Aged 17, Andersen won the bronze medal in the 2025 SGP2 series.[13] In the 2026 SGP2 series he finished second in Målilla, won the round in Łódź and clinched the title in Vojens when Maksymilian Pawełczak, the only rider who could still overtake him, was eliminated after the qualifying heats. He finished with 46 points, ahead of Nicolai Heiselberg and Wiktor Przyjemski.[14][15] He became the first Danish world under-21 champion since Michael Jepsen Jensen in 2012 and the first rider in the history of the championship to repeat his father's success.[2]
